Films

A few of my films (page under construction):

Water (narrative non-dialogue, 4 min)
Janice Ahn – Writer-Director, Producer, Editor

This is the first film I made, shot in winter 2004 on an abandoned stretch of the East River in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The beautifully dilapidated wood, concrete, and weeds have since been removed from the site, now a pleasant park. The film, inspired by real events, thus marks both my history & New York City’s.

Two Months to Home (documentary, 7 min)
Janice Ahn – Director, Producer, Editor
Randy Wilkins – Camera
Distributed by TWN

This is the first documentary I made, in 2005. After reading about Samira’s incarceration in a local paper, I tracked down her husband Abdul at his South Ferry coffee cart. The story quickly developed after we began shooting.

Daniel Patterson – Director of Photography
Jason Moran – Composer
Keith Davis – Editor

A jilted woman’s New Year’s Eve gets turned upside down when she (Sahr Ali) explores a new romantic prospect (Ernest Waddell).
